New School Color - Casey Klahn
There's a beautiful energy in this one. I like it a lot.
Thanks for commenting graciously, Lisa and Carol Lee.
This one is stunning.
I love the energy and colour vibrancy in this work. It is so difficult to depict landscape in an interesting way.
Landscape isn't the oldest genre, but it does suffer from a lot of greenness, doesn't it?Thanks for looking, Margaret.
Is the paper a peach color? When you first start the drawing have you decided on the color arrangement that produces the feel you want or does it develop as you go? Full of question!!! Thank you.
Hi, Vivian. Thanks for the questions. This is on Wallis Museum, so it's white. I must have used a really big pastel I made that is about that peach color/umber. I may have worked it in with a paper towel or tissue.I try not to work anything out ahead of time. Just go with it. The key here is gestural drawing, and not going too far with it.
